Tennis sweeps Yorktown for HHC win

The New Palestine girls tennis team posted its second conference victory of the season Thursday, sweeping a strong Yorktown squad 5-0 at home. Two singles matches went beyond the second set, The other three Dragons wins were all decided by a break in each set. Arabella Deisher won with two tiebreakers, winning 7-6(5), 7-6(3) at No. 1 singles. Riley Watts posted a 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2. At No. 3 singles, which was the last match to finish, Macy Thomas won a 4-6, 7-5, 12-10 super-tiebreaker. The Dragons swept the doubles, as Alyssa Beller/Addison Ballard won 6-3, 6-4. Alyssa Appleby/Elliott Graham posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory. The Dragons are now 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. They next compete Saturday in the Plainfield Invitational. The Dragons also won the JV match 13-2.
