New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys soccer team played a solid defensive game, but dropped a 3-0 decision Saturday at home to Class 3A No. 3 Brownsburg. The Dragons conceded a goal out of the run of play in the seventh minute, but then held firm through the rest of the half, as freshman goalkeeper Camden Brown made a number of big saves. Tyler Patterson had the Dragons' best chance, with a shot from the top of the box that was deflected out for a corner. In the second half, the Bulldogs were awarded a penalty kick and converted in the 50th minute, then scored on a fortunate bounce three minutes later, but Brown and the Dragons back line prevented the Bulldogs from breaking through again. The Dragons JV fell 5-1. Oscar Keggeris scored for the Dragons. The Dragons varsity is now 0-3. They next play Tuesday at Whiteland.
