Volleyball rallies to reverse-sweep Delta

After dropping the first two sets in close fashion, the New Palestine volleyball team rallied Tuesday to beat Delta 22-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17, 15-13. The Dragons trailed 13-11 in the fifth set, but a hitting error gave the Dragons the service back. With Emmi Robinson at the line, the Dragons finished it off. Adelynn Crispin's block of the Eagles' right-side hitter tied the set. She then had an emphatic kill to bring up match point. Robinson served an ace to clinch the match for the Dragons. Crispin finished with 16 kills, one of three Dragons with double-digit kills. She also had three solo blocks, two aces and 15 digs for a double-double. Caylee Brown tallied 15 kills and three blocks from the middle. Elena Cook had 10 on the right side, along with four blocks, three aces and seven digs. Ella Moeller had eight kills, while Cara Steele and Alex Gooding had five each. Gooding also had eight digs. Kennedy Armstrong had 37 assists for the Dragons. She also had 14 digs and three aces. Brileigh Tincher added 20 assists. Robinson led the defense with 22 digs. Haven Flagle added 12 digs. The Dragons are now 16-1 on the season. They next play Wednesday at Perry Meridian.
