New Palestine High School

The No. 23 New Palestine tennis team hit the road Tuesday and won a matchup against No. 24 Brownsburg, beating the Bulldogs 3-2. The Dragons got two wins at singles, as Carson Rush won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, and Tyler Walter posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2. After dropping No. 3 singles - where Brock Hehmann fell 6-1, 6-4 - and No. 1 doubles, where Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision - the match came down to No. 2 doubles. There, Brady Groce/Jack Hehmann won a tight first set, and then did the same in the second, winning each set by a break 6-4, 7-5, clinching the victory for the Dragons. The Dragons have now won 12 straight matches and are 14-1 on the season. They finish the regular season Wednesday at Mt. Vernon.
