Swimmers sweep Cathedral

The New Palestine swimming and diving teams swept Cathedral Tuesday in the NPHS Natatorium, with the boys winning 120-59 and the girls winning 97-79. Winners for the Dragons boys were the 200 medley relay of Dawson Lynch, Aidan Kingery, Jake Myers and James Watson (1:47.37), Myers in the 200 IM (2:17.86), Aidan Stephens in diving (158.75), Lynch in the 100 butterfly (59.07) and 100 backstroke (59.73), Dontae Thompson in the 100 free (53.55), the 200 free relay of Lynch, Kingery, Myers and Thompson (1:38.68), Kingery in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.36) and the 400 free relay of Watson, Reese Cox, Ashton Turner and Thompson (3:38.60). Finishing second for the Dragons boys were Thompson in the 200 free, Watson in the 50 free and 500 free, Cade Rodgers in diving, Turner in the 100 free, Cox in the 100 backstroke and Blake Hurst in the 100 breaststroke. Winners for the Dragons girls were Adrianna Huston in the 200 free (2:10.57) and 100 free (59.51), Lillie Abernathy in the 200 IM (2:35.35) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.75), Sullie Leavell in the 50 free (26.67) and 100 butterfly (1:08.87), Lauren Appleby in diving (142.45), Ireland Armstrong in the 500 free (6:26.96), the 200 free relay of Huston, Rachel Hamilton, Abernathy and Leavell (1:49.63) and the 400 free relay of Leavell, Cadyn Brown, Abertnathy and Huston (4:11.49). Finishing second for the Dragons girls was the 200 medley relay of Emma Snyder, Rachel Hamiklton, Madi Bard and Emily Appleby. The Dragons are next in action Nov. 28 at Greenfield-Central.
