Track competes at Zionsville

The New Palestine track and field teams competed Friday in the Zionsville Invitational. The Dragons boys scored 31 points to finish eighth of 10 teams. The girls tallied 32 points and finished ninth of 10. Abby Journay finished third in the 200 and also placed third in the high jump. Rebecca Johnson was eighth in pole vault. The 4x400 relay was fourth, the 4x100 sixth and the 4x800 eighth. For the Dragons boys, Jake Cooper was the top finisher, placing second in the 800. Brock Brownfield was fifth in shot put. David Pack was sixth in the 400. Quinn Crawmer was sixth in pole vault. The Dragons' 4x400 relay was second, while the 4x100 placed eighth. The Dragons are next in action Wednesday in the Hancock County meet at Mt. Vernon.
