New Palestine High School

Hannah Sund scored four goals Monday, leading the New Palestine girls soccer team to a 6-1 victory over Mooresville in the season opener. Sund returned to action after missing all of the 2024 season due to an injury and made a quick impact. Brooke Tanksley and Gabbie Brown each had a goal and an assist. Madelyn Fox, Callee Rains, Paige Jones and Hailey Pardieck also had assists, while McKenzie Hacker had six saves on seven shots on goal. Addison Lindell was awarded for her tenacious defense. The Dragons (1-0) are next in action Saturday morning at Lawrence North, with the JV game beginning at 10 a.m. There was no JV game Monday.
