New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys cross country team placed second and the girls third at Saturday's Whiteland Invitational. The Dragons boys scored 73 places to finish second to Whiteland (55). The Dragons nipped Hauser (76) and Greenwood (81) in a 10-team field. Mike Bauer led the Dragons with a third-place finish in 16:16.27. Carson Cooper was seventh (17:26.02), Zion Koch 22nd (18:03.46), Gabe Silvey 25th (18:13.96) and Ryan Cain 28th (18:21.97). The Dragons girls were third of nine teams with 70 places, finishing behind Whiteland (48) and Greenwood (59). Hailey Pardieck was fourth in 19:22.23. Elena Daugherty was seventh (20:26.37), Heidi Bloomer 17th (21:41.43), Brynn Richey 19th (21:43.26) and McKenzie Hacker 23rd (22:04.91).
